A friend of mine is starting a small furniture business. Naturally she wants me to use my van to move the furniture. Great idea!!

I have it all set up-- just some questions. What do you guys think I should do about the insurance, and secondly what should I do about authority. I believe I read some where that as long as the vehicle and its loaded weight weigh no less then 10,000 lbs no authority needed. Is this true that you do not need authority until your loaded vehicle weighs more then 10,001 lbs?

You should obtain or check into some type of commercial insurance. Shouldn't be too expensive for hauling furniture on a occassion basis. You likely would not need to file for a authority but be advised, there are some differences depending on what state your in. If it is a rare occassion, it could be assumed you are moving your own personal items.
