The Fed has us headed to the great state of Texas, any good layover spots in the area? Sounds like we may be there for a day or two.

Thanks for the help.

If I remember correctly it is a smaller J, like the one at Olive Branch,MS.

Still much nicer than the Julesburg Colorado Flying J, The only one J that I know of in the US with a dirt parking lot.
That old J might be closed now.

If you can put that trip off til about the end of July, 1st of August, you're welcome to stay at the Sports Bar/Pool Hall my brother and I are opening right outside the gates of Shephard AFB. Contractors are in the building now doing all the remodeling of the building he bought. Hopefully we'll have it open by August 1st.

Not sure which truckstop it is, but there's a big one there off 287 and Old Jacksboro Hwy(473). The 2 Walmarts in town are off Kell Blvd(82) - Lawrence/Mcneil Rd & I 44/287 - Airport Dr.

Wichita Falls mall is on Kemp Ave just east of Kell Blvd.

Make your way down to Southwest Parkway and you'll find a lot of different locally owned restaurants and cafe types of places to eat. And there's a big "Family Fun Center" there just past Bridge Creek Rd that's got a Go Cart course, Putt Putt Golf, and a huge Video Game room.

Also, if you want to gamble, there's an Indian Casino (Kiowa Casino) about 20 miles north just over the Texas-Oklahoma border. Take I-44 N from Wichita Falls. Once you go over the Red River, take Exit 1 and you'll see the Casino off to the West.

Other than that, Wichita Falls is pretty much Blah........

Thanks for all of the info. I knew that I could count on everyone for good advise. Was at the J in Olive Branch last week and it is a good spot. Better than down town Memphis. West Memphis is okay.

Good luck with the new adventure. Its hard work to open up a new place but it can be exciting.

Leaving Northern MI for Texas in the am. Happy Trails!
