Where are the best places for putting a cb radio in a sprinter? Dash, ceiling, console,by the seat?

you can sit it on the dash and out velcro on it to hold it to the dash. or you can take a mounting bracket and put two self tappers into the dash, but then you'll have 2 holes in your dash.

I bought a Cobra 75 WX ST All-in-handset Mobile CB.

The power source is a small 5" square box that is mounted under my seat. The antenna coax plugs into it and the handset too.

All of the controls, microphone and speaker are in the handset.

I just have the handset cable coming out from underneath my seat.

No holes and it doesn't take up valuable space.

I removed the passenger seat and in its place put a wooden box, a desk, I guess, that has some shelves to hold paperwork and junk, a top for the computer, etc. I mounted the CB and the QC on the side next to the driver's seat.

I didn't want to put holes in my dash so what I did was to take the center vent cover above the radio off and punch out two holes in it for the mounting bolts for a CB bracket. The vent cover is easily replacable and is (relatively) low-cost. The mounting location is easily reachable for either the driver or a passenger.

We mounted the cb and bracket to the front of cup holder. That keeps low and out of the way.

Pilots carry 2 different sized metal cases with speakers that a prewired for CB's and fm radios or CD players . Makes for real easy removal if your truck goes in the shop or will be unattended for a while .

I used construction adhesive to glue a 1x6x8" piece of hardwood to the underside of the roof. Put the headliner back in place and ran 2 screws through the CB mounting bracket into the wood block. I have down this to both of my Chevys.

I just bought a cheap CB unit, just for the hell of it. Nice to know exactly what the situation is, when your on a freeway "parking lot". Just interested in where you ran your antenna coax thru to the outside of your Sprinter, and where you located the antenna. I know there are drop-down antenna models where I could lower it to clear overhead doors if it was too high. I also have a 2-meter mobile unit, but just use it at home.
