SPICER 6 SPEED

I'M LOOKING AT A TRUCK IT HAS A SPICER 6 SPEED IN IT. I KNOW THE SPICER 7 IS CRAP, WHAT ABOUT THE 6 SPEED? IT ALSO HAS THE CAT3126 WHICH I KNOW AIN'T GREAT, BUT IT ONLY HAS 135,000 MILES ON IT, AND I CAN GET IT FOR ONLY $16,000.00 ITS A FL70 AND ITS A 2000. ANY THOUGHTS?

I am not aware of any 6 speed Spicer made. There were 5's and 7's, but no 6's to my fairly decent memory. I'm gonna guess this 2000 FL70 you are looking at has a 6 speed Eaton synchro, which are decent trannies. If that is the case and you accept the fact the PARENT BORE 3126 is only gonna run 600k miles at best and cost $15k to replace, the truck is OK for the price.
