Can anyone offer advice on just how long in advance of the expiration date one needs to renew a CDL with Hazmat? In Ohio, if it makes any difference.

We just had to change our liscense to Ohio....we had arizona. Go to www.hazprints.com and fill out information on background check. They will then give you a drop down for Ohio on where you can get fingerprinted...pick place closest or most convenient to you. After you get finger printed, then go and take the hazmat test for your cdl. We waited a week after we did the finger printing and background check..when we went to the dmv for test they already had results in their computer on our background checks and gave us the endorsement there on the spot......that was 2 months ago. We got the letter in the mail last week saying we were qualified for hazmat :p Hope this helps. DMV recommends 4-6 weeks but took us a week to get cleared.
