and it's to much truck for running local and need bigger box to run city, dan schultz is taking care of details, etc
be a great starter truck for someone wanting a c unit

I was just kidding around about the MPG thing George. My friend's Freightliner Century with C10 and autoshift does about the same MPG. I just can't believe you would ever want to sell that Western Star with all the high praises you have been giving it on the forums. I have done a lot of loads for EGL out of Raleigh and can see where you would need a bigger box though- they usually fill my 24 footer to the gills.

Remember George it!s not just a truck ,it is a STAR,why not pull that 16 foot box off and put a 22 footer on it ,cheaper than buying a new unit and you still have your sleeper. I thought with your magic additives you got 45 MPG .LOL Don!t take offense, just kidding

Exactly what I was thinking- it would only cost a few grand to lengthen the frame rails and move the rear axle back a little. Gotta have something better than one of those Isuzus most of them EGL guys run!

i still feel the same if itn't a star it's not a truck
wonder why not add 6' feet to the truck, egl doesn't let you keep a truck over 5 year's old period
it's a lease truck and in 17 month's have to decide buy it or give it
back
also would have to put a tag axle on it to,
if i put a lift gate on it to
no sents putting more money into it so trade it
also have to be able to carry 13,000
so decide to sell it, and go with a day cab
so if someone is looking for a great c unit it
is able to carry 13,300 not to many c units
or make it a d unit is possible

I guess you have answered my wonders about why the cheap Isuzus and Mitsubishis are so popular with EGL drivers if they can only run them 5 years there. No sense in getting into much of anything over $40-50K if that is the case.

it was hard coming up to decison to change truck's
because of the comfort level you will give up the ride
and head's turnning looking what was that
but it's just business

Just too hard to get back into one of those cheap rigs, isn't it:7
I would think EGL would let you run that truck longer than 5 years as its a class 8. I see some of thier contractors with tractors have some over 5 years old- would make a good arguement anyway!
