Do any of you know anything about Fed X? I have a chance to drive a C unit for an O/O in michigan, all I have to do is get approved thru Fed X. I dont know what it takes to be qualified with them, do any of you?
I have a CLEAN MVR, no poiints, no accidents and no tickets in over 12 yrs. What else do they look for?

I need this job so I can get some experience. This O/O is getting a new truck in Nov. and I will be moving into it. their lease with FedX goes thru 2005 with an option to renew. The way it was explained to me, The Owner pay 50%, alot of miles if I want them, home time anytime I want it, no Canada unless I want it, fuel paid buy the owner as well as tolls, maintenance and repairs. How could I go wrong?

I just need to get qualified! If you know what it takes, please let ,me know.
Thanks

Yes, we've been driving C units with FedEx CC for over 7 years, and I think you're fortunate to have found this deal.

Since your truck (you will be driving) is already a FedEx CC truck, your qualifications other than what you mentioned, will be to show a recent 6 month work history driving that size unit (a straight truck or larger), pass drug screening and physical, and attend orientation in Green, OH.

Normally when approved, you'll go to work right out of Green.

When you see us on the road, say hi.

Actually, if you aren't the owner of the truck, you don't have to attend orientation. Orientation for FedEx is for the Owners. They can send drivers ( I attended as a driver), but FedEx trains the owners and expects the owners to train their drivers. But, the drivers do have to qualify with FedEx first.

And, the 6 months is important, but they can waive it if they choose. Since FedEx charges more than any other carrier, they expect their drivers to be qualified. Especially when they are responsible for the safe passage of the contents of the load.

Just my 10 cents.
