Broker Agent Question

Seems that the requirements are the same (insurance, mc#, gen insur.) for either transporting or being a broker.

Question is this.

I have active authority now. 1 million gen, 200k cargo. Can I legaly act as a broker if I had the 10K min bond????

I suggest calling a broker authority agent (OOIDA would be a good one) to find out the particulars.

Right, customers/carriers are needed, I understand this, but my question is can i use my already existing DOT/MC #'s, and current insurance, but ADD a bond and legally be able to be a "broker". Or must I applly for new #'s n such as a broker only?

I'm assuming that I just need to add the min. bond of 10K and I'm all set to dispatch, right?
