oh please let the load gods
shine their light on me
tired of getting crapped on
which brings me to my knees

what a horrific month
this last one has been
Hope and prayer that we
can hold on till it's done

too old to cut the mustard
on any other job
could just drink away my sorrows
but which pocket would I rob?

The wait is weary and bleak
the weather rough and gray
this job isn't for the meek
how much longer can I stay

Now give your special someone
a call to calm your nerves
and wonder why this master
is really the one to serve

Here I sit with no load to git.
Tried to deal with it but I just had a fit.
If there is no freight then i'll simply wait.
But for how long that only depends on fate.

With the new year came a clean slate.
Yet for how long must I sit and wait for no freight.
I am not alone for others no freight has been shown.
And I will not change my tone until a shipper throws me a bone.

I do not fret because this career I do not regret.
I will continue to wait until there is freight to get.
I will take solace in my good fortune and listen to a happy tune.
But I hope freight picks up before next june.

To sit and wait many shall debate.
But to drive a truck is but my only fate.
I may sit or I may ride.
But only that will god decide.

We're covered here in snow and ice
The trees are bending low
No snow plow's yet to grace our road
No where yet to go

My van is buried in a drift
Encased in a glassy cage
But I could be in a shop somewhere
Slaving for minimum wage!

Still, I'd like a run to Southern lands
Far from the snow and ice
Perhaps a run to Alabam
New Orleans would be nice..

Anywhere that has some sun
And air warm to the touch
I'd like to see a sunny day
Is that asking too much?

We could all work at Mickey D's
with your burger, would you want cheese
Or perhaps at Pizza hut
but that would swell my tender butt

Or Taco Bell, with beans refried
a tummy tuck would be needed to resize
Or KFC with crispy strips
designed to go straight to my hips

Nope, I think that I will stay
in my expediter's chair I say
I'll wiggle a little, and swear and sway
until that load dispatcher says HEY!

And then we'll scoot on down the road
maybe a shorty but still a load
and if I close my eyes real tight
I know that I will sleep tonight!

It's harder to wait
When the cold winds blow
When the temperature is always
"Something" below
I shrink from the cold
Staying inside
I eat, drink, sleep, & read
And slowly lose my mind.
Course, when I get a load
Going way down south
Then I'll talk out of
The other side of my mouth.....;)

Thank you for the inspiration Mrs. Syeed,
To write this verse while at high speed

I don’t like the freezing rain.
With me driving it causes pain.

Off to White Earth, North Dakota I go.
Hope the warm Chinook winds do blow.

Cause I’m sick of cold and snow.
But I won’t f*cking count on it!

You'd think a guy from Minnesota
wouldn't mind going to North Dakota
The cold and snow is his birthright
To drive all day and all night

Oh Moot oh Moot such a fellow
Strange to listen to him bellow
Panther knows he'll get the job done
when he gets back they'll make him number one.:D

A dispatchers kiss,
Yeah, that's what I need.
Their instructions and guidance
I must heed.

But, with this weather
and it's so darn slow,
Screw it!
I'm going home for the Superbowl!

Here we sit, we wait and wait.
Can the qc really beep this late?

All these expeditors lined up in a row.
Not a load to run, not a seed to sow.

How many times can I clean this truck?
This situation is all amuck.

Been sleeping for five days.
This waiting never pays.

This seems like the 10 hour break that never ends.
Just waiting for that load that dispatch sends.

When they call with those offers..

My reply, "I'm out of hours."

The truck is clean
Laundry's done too
Sammitches are packed
What else can I do?

Turned in the Trippak
(It's FREEZING out there!)
Pulled out the curling iron
And fixed up my hair

Too early for a nap
How slow the hours go
While just wasting time
I'm so glad there's EO!

I learn new things
And laugh at some jokes
I add my two cents
(annoying some folks)

But whether or not
You're fluent in rhyme
What better place
To spend the time?

the rev should explode

with all the bull***t
that's filled in his head
What an arrogant a**H***
and can't see ahead

So Dreamer I implore you
save my sweet thoughts
It's time that the rev
was given a toss!
