You can get a golds gym membership, I think there good through out the U.S. When your on the road, look up the nearest golds gym. Or, most any gym, at least in my area, charge anywhere from $5 to $10 a day for a work out.
I'm probably not going to be the only one to tell you this, you will probably be better off working for, or with a fleet owner to see if you can make a living at this. Working for a fleet owner will give you an idea of revenue and expense for this business. However there is an EO member here...
Terry, how well would that work with a 2000 watt heater or an air conditioner? Would or could I add more batteries to get at least 8 hours of use from either one?
Terry, from your figures i think owning a sprinter is the way to go, in the long run you'll save alot more than with a CV. whats the new sprinters with the 6 cyl. getting per mile?
Thanks teamcaffee, another question, when you are offered a load, does it show what the load pays on the QC and does it also show what the fsc will be.
What are express centers? Is it a faciclity owned by fedex, where a driver can layover, is there a building on the grounds where one can go into or is it just land, to park and layover for the night?
when he flies him home , how is he going to get back? do you have to deadhead to go get him. It just seems that someone is going to far out of there way to get things done, I dont know if that would be good or bad.
When i was on the phone talking to them, I said, I dont think I should pay for the oil changes because I dont own the van, I was told thats how its always been done with previous drivers.
RICHM, yes owner is with fedex. TERRY, I agree, could be a sign of things to come. XO6COL, why should he get a piece of the FSC if I'm paying for it, and i would also be paying for an oil change out of my pocket also without any reimbursement.
I was set to start working for a owner, however we could'nt come to an agreement on the accesorial pay. His contract was written that he would get 35% of everything. I want 100% of FSC and other accesorial that i feel were right for me to have. This would be a 65/35 deal. But he told me that...
I think you made a good decision, 50% is to low for me personally, maybe you could have asked him to pickup 50% of the fuel and 50% fsc. like was mentioned before, I think a 2 week notice was'nt warrented here because you did'nt start working yet. Like has been mentioned here before, many times...
