Snow and more snow...

Man, I was so glad to get out of Ohio today! Locally we had around 10 inches of snow, and the roads were horrible. Over the weekend, I was dispatched on a load that picked up last night going to Memphis.  Well, when the snow started coming down hard, I decided I'd better head in early. So, I left over 3 hrs before pickup, with only about 40 miles to go.  Wow.. by the time I hit Columbus, traffic had slowed to a crawl.  From the outerbelt to the northend pickup address, it took me 2 and a half hrs.  As I pulled up to the pickup, I saw there was going to be a problem.. their lot was not plowed.  Just then the phone rings... it's dispatch... customer sent everyone home early, and forgot to call us til now. aAAAGGGH.. LOL.. I told her they were 'testing my religion" LOL.. after over 3 hrs in the snow, most of it at 10mph or less... I was not happy!  Anyway, they rescheduled for today, and I stayed on the run.

It was a strange pickup.. as I looked at the paperwork, I saw all that was listed was a relatively small household appliance... my pay alone would be many times what the item was worth... I checked in with the customer, sure enough, it was right... turns out it was evidence in a litigation against a company, and it needed to go to a testing location, and they didn't want to risk sending it by mail, UPS, etc.. they wanted it hand delivered to the testing location. So, I loaded up, and headed out thru the snow with a very light load..

As I drove South, the roads were still snow covered, but I was so glad to get down into Southern KY and TN... there I ran out of the snow finally!  I delivered to the location, and headed up to Jackson, TN to layover.
