    Big Truck Grille Guard

In Australia they are called kangaroo guards. I was driving through east Texas the other night when someone ahead of me came on the CB and warned of a whole herd of dear standing on the side of I-30. I slowed down and kept my eyes peeled but I didn't see them. It sure made me think of those nose...

    Cargo van Info

A cargo van can have a sleeper as long as the GVWR is under 10,001lbs. Sleeper regulations do not apply to any vehicle under 10,001lbs GVWR. If you are expediting with a van, you'll want to stay under that threshold weight anyway so that you won't have to log.

    Sleepers, legal ?'s

WOW Joe! That is awesome! Could you send both the left and right doors down to me here in Tulsa by Saturday? I have a run up to Columbus, Ohio on Monday and they sure would come in handy! LOL! Crazynuff, The GMC 5500 series uses the same body as the 4500 and the back is not big enough to...

    Sleepers, legal ?'s

I also thought of aftermarket rear crew cab doors that had a bulge in them to meet the DOT sleeper requirements. Perhaps fiberglass with no windows that utilize the existing hinges and latches. I could take out the back seat and put in a mattress. There could be a market for it. It could...

    Sleepers, legal ?'s

The short of it is this; If you are over 10,000gvwr your sleeper has to be 75"x24"x24". It has to be separate from the cargo area and easily accessable from the cab area. The sleeper also must have proper ventilation and an emergency exit door. You must also have an inner spring matress or 4"...

    Sprinter cab chassis sleeper

If you are over 10,000lbs GVWR and your sleeper is too small to meet DOT specs, you better have motel receipts or they will shut you down in a heartbeat and put you out of service!

    Cargo Van Outfitters ?

Hey Dreamer, I like the idea. Instead of paying $4,000 more on a diesel. Go with a gas engine like Terry and have one of those pop-ups installed. Solves the problem of sleeper space. Put a propane heater in and that awning on, and you've got it made! I could just see goin' by the Flying Hook and...

    New Pete 335

The 387's set up with owner operator specs are sweet! Saw a black 387 parked here in Tulsa with a bunch of polished aluminum (tanks, wheels, etc.), a polished aluminum headache rack with locker doors, and a new 48x102 Renegade all polished aluminum flatbed trailer with a 10'2" spread axle...

    New Pete 335

I just had a new 335 pull-up behind me in my car yesterday at the light in front of the Flying Hook. It's the first one I've seen. I looked in my rear view mirror and all I could see was that good looking grill and headlights. Has anybody seen one made into an expediter yet? They would look...

RE: Preacher Hey Sprinting. I think orange shag carpeting on the floor would be cool, along with a mirrored ball hanging from the roof and some little fuzzy balls around the windshield. Just put in a waterbed for a sleeper and your ready to go! GROOOVY, BABY!

RE: Preacher I've seen several dual rear wheel cutaway box vans rated at 10,000gvwr. I have not see any with the attic over the cab. I would imagine you could have one built. The weight would be more, and certainly more than a Sprinter. You could always go higher than 10,000gvwr or use a Ford...

    Sprinter Sleeper conversion pics.

RE: Preacher AAHH! That is the BIG question, isn't it? Of course I don't see why not. As long as it is rated 10,000gvw or under and could load more bulk than a Sprinter, they probably would keep you fairly loaded and busy.

RE: Preacher If you could find or build a 10,000gvw cutaway box van with an attic above the cab, you could put the bunk in the attic and possibly have room for a toilet, shower, and sink. You would have to install some holding tanks and plumbing, but they can be found at an RV dealer. Just use...

    Sprinter Sleeper conversion pics.

RE: Preacher Considering the cost of a new or even a used Sprinter, I can buy a cutaway box van for almost half the cost of a Sprinter. Even if I get 15mpg in my cutaway van and the Sprinter gets 20mpg, is it worth the extra cost for the Sprinter? In the Sprinter you still have wheel wells to...
