Have you had it diagnosed... have the electrical system jumped, and if it keeps running it's a electrical problem, if it quits its a mechanical problem. Can you take it to a repair shop or someone who deals in your brand, or someone you trust not to 'fix' what they think is wrong but really fix it.

We have Michelin SS on our tandem axle ST. Excellent mileage around 8 - 13 mpg depending on road conditions more so than weather, although we get better performance over all in cold weather. Hope this helps you. One downside to them though is replacing them if the need arises out on the road.

Ye, we know the HQ are up there. But you can no longer go up there, and purchase anything from them directly. You have to call another number, and order an item there. It's called service, another tradition that's in short supply these days.

I agree with greg334 on this one. Where we got our pipes isn't on here either. We fabricated ours, and then took them to a shop, who gave us our own part number.

Hey LDB, What's the rear end gear ratio in the truck? If it's the wrong ratio, your engine could have been at max rpm all these months, redline, and burn your engine right up. Then that would be the dealer's fault. Because CAT made alot of engines and they all ( knock on wood) didn't fail.

Anyone contemplating new tires for their commercial vehicle sometime this year may want to purchase sooner rather than later. Can't locate the article right now but the article mentioned that commercial tires would be increasing in price by 8% on May 1, 2010.

Layoutshooter, We have a Webasto bunk heater, runs all night off and on as it is programmed by a thermostat. They are located up near Fenton,MI We LOVE it. Toasty warm, all night long. Really nice people at their Fenton store/factory very helpful.

the dealer that installed it (the original installation, the starting point for all the rest) was the Carrier dealer in Richfield, OH. AND we took it back there several times after the fact, our reefer unit also was installed there and also had problems, that have thankfully been fixed... elsewhere.

Good reply, we appreciate them wouldn't that burn the alternator and or burn up the diodes? But both wires going from the generator to the battery are red, go figure, self installation has it's points
