    Used Vans

I understand that a large percentage of small business people do not make the grade. I also understand that there is a glut of vans out there and a lot don't make it in this business. My question is , where are all the used vans that should be out there. I haven't been able to find many. Or do...

    $2.86 per mile

And how many times has your freight pulled a gun on you? The taxi drivers can have it, two killed in my area in the last month. Wouldn't do it for $10 a mile.

    C/V's Dead?

Thank you very much for your replies, makes me feel much better. I can afford a C/V and if things don't work out I can convert it to a camper, something I couldn't do with a straight truck that I couldn't afford anyway. Again THANK YOU

    C/V's Dead?

I talked to a recruiter a couple of days ago and was told that C/V's were dead, soon they would not be around unless they were similar to the tall/long Sprinter. What is the opinion of the people that have C/V's, are they a thing of the past?

Thank you for your replies, I am a want-a-be, and would like to talk to someone who has been there and done that Don't take it unkindly, but I hope to retire the end of the year and do some traveling, can't think of a better way, a few extra bucks in the pocket wouldn't hurt.

    Fsc

As someone who is "thinking", about getting a van, I am unsure to go gas or diesel. I know the diesel should last longer, but at a higher price. My other concern is if there is a fsc for gas vans. I understand the diesel vans get it but what about the gassers? I know this is a dumb...

A/C metal contamination aka black death

Black death has been a problem with Ford's for years. The only way to correct the problem, is to replace the whole system, I guess the problem has come to International now too.

    a different style truck

RE: Multiple things As an old Bus driver myself, I remember the freighter buses my company ran. They were very similar to the regular bus with 18 passengers and the freight box was part of the bus, not an add on as this unit seems. If they could have afforded more than the three they had...

What does everyone think of this as a back up truc

RE: What does everyone think of this as a back up Just a personal opinion, but wouldn't make more econmic sense to rent a tractor from Ryder or Penkse, when you need a back up instead of buying a truck. Insurance, maint, licensing etc are included and if it breaks they come to you and fix it or...

I think the part about 10 hours off is the key and the on duty is 14 hours a day, not 15 as it is now.
