    Look at your settlement sheet!

It isnt often I see on the customer's paperwork what Fedex CC is charging them for the load. A few times it is listed. A few years back, we had a problem with a load that involved a big lack of communication between CC and the customer. The customer was livid at what had happened, and showed...

Was waiting a while to see where this thread would go. First, I never take business personally. Learned a long time ago that to operate a business well, personal feelings have to be left behind in order to make good choices. The whole reason for all of this was my long conversations with...

    Reefer times

All true and well said. There are wide varieties of construction techniques in boxes and in insulation types used and in how that insulation is anchored within the box walls and floors.

As I said, the problem in CC was/is SE. Very low to losing margins. WG margins were/are quite good. WG was supplementing SE, and that had to stop. ES has to be self supporting, has to pay its own way. It wasnt. Hence, the flat rate for SE, but not WG. I mean, isnt it VERY obvious?? Or...

Never had anything to do with taking anything personaly. Just that truth doesnt matter to lots of folks. CC is also by far the smallest arm of Fedex. Would you REALLY expect the smallest arm to be making more money than the other divisions? C'mon. Really?

    Reefer times

Who says the insulation breaks own? The "engineers" at TVAL? The biggest culprit for slow heat transfer is an ageing (corroded) condensor.

A while back, I had a talk with the head customer service rep at Fedex, about the Acceptance rate policy that had just started. She told me why Fedex was doing it. I relayed that info here. Responses here was that I was full off BS. So, anyone still think that? I'll repeat what I said...WG...

    Vehicles with 120v needed

We do an average of 2 loads per month. Most are sine wave sensitive, so you cant use an inverter. I made modifications to my APU so i can run it while drivng without dammage. True sine wave inverters are pricey. The loads pay well.

Forgot to mention, we were on that -20 C load for 3 days! And yes, we drive a belly mount reefer.

    Reefer times

It does depend on ambient temps, parked or moving, daytime or nightime, and condition of your reefer-especially your condensor coil/fins. Corrosion eats up those aluminum fins and wrecks your heat transfer rate, especially belly mount units. Last month had -20 C load that picked up in Long...

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

I drive an underbelly unit also. And yes, I'm a real engineer. Did have to replace a condenser on last truck, due to bad corrosion. $5000. Carrier. I know my way around the entire unit. Even made roadside repairs (several) that saved me from losing loads....such as from a seized belt...

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

My wife and I have talked to several owners putting brand new trucks in the Fedex fleet. They expect the drivers to pick up the truck from Ft Wayne or Columbus OH directly, then drive straight to Green OH for the branding, then Qualcom install, then straight on THE PAD for TVAL testing. The...

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

I have'nt seen that letter........could it be that the vast majority of reefers out there on older straight trucks are Carriers, and that the newer trucks, with NEWER reefer units, are holding up better......based on age?

    T-Val is Thermoking only now?

2 months ago I asked the ladies in TVAL if there was any mandate about mounting/running TK or Carrier units on new or existing straight trucks. They laughed. Said, yes, they had heard the rumors too. They said there is no truth to the rumor. It is up to the owner entirely. This was from...

Load Acceptance Rates Included in Ranking

I make good money in this business because I always seek the truth. If you don't believe me, call your CC. I called mine after the conversation I spoke of above. It was verified.
