Possible Solution For Cargo Van A/C

I don't believe this unit will work in a truck. IIUC the seawater pump is how they condense the refrigerant for this type of unit. http://yachtmd.com/new_page_2.htm This is where I first looked at them and it would be a great solution. Am I wrong or do you need to be in water to use this type...

    General Truck bodies

Wondering if anyone has had experience with General Truck Body, Inc. 1750 Albion Street Los Angeles, CA 90031 Email: [email protected] Tel: (323) 276-1933 Fax: (323) 276-1932 http://www.gtbtrkbody.com/ They seem to be very helpful and came in with the lowest bid for a body. They also seem...

    Generator and air conditioning feedback

Thank you all so much for the tips and warnings. I've survived the summer (I think) so I got a little breathing space as I have an Espar bunk heater to get me thru the cold stuff. TruckGen seems to be a very recommended unit but it seems you need to have them do the install if you need it done...

    Generator and air conditioning feedback

Thanks Glen, 7000 is what powertech recommended. How long have you had the powertech? Where did you get it and if you don't mind how much$$$? Did you have it installed or do it yourself? How many hours do you have on the unit? The interesting part of generator sizing is that power ratings are...

    Generator and air conditioning feedback

Can anyone give some personal experience feedback on their generator of choice and where it was purchased/installed please. I'm looking for a/c mainly and want to be able to use a landline connection when possible so I hoping for suggestions or warnings mainly for those types which do not...

Who owns this Volvo 770 Expediter?

ad Took a wild shot yesterday. Bob Graven is the owner. He's got 6 or 8 of the units. He says they're awesome. He's getting two 2006 models built with 13spds and 565 Cummins with 3.58s. I guess my 14 litre 575 18autoshift isn't overkill afterall. He said they're averaging 7.5 to 8.5 mpg. Cheers...

    Truck Spec opinions

I'm curious about the "6 lbs per sq inch" thing. How is that calculated? At 12,600 isn't that around 14 sq feet?

    Volvo trucks

Just a newb here. FWIW I own both a Freightliner and a Volvo 770 I've not had a bit of trouble with the Freightliner but if driver comfort and standard equipment vs. options come into play I'd have to give Volvo the nod. Ultimately they're all the same parts for drivetrain so Freightliner is...

Class 8 wheelbase and box length

Thanks Weave, The wheelbase thing is what is throwing me. Assuming a 77" sleeper dimension I would be limited to a 20' box with a wheelbase of 248" (center of drivers)however, with a wheelbase of 273" (center of rear driver, as if "single axle")would allow a 23.14'. Is it acceptable to calculate...

Class 8 wheelbase and box length

Like the title says, what wheelbase and boxlength would you want if you could do it all over again? Specing with the 60/40 weight split how much "fudge factor" do you think is acceptable to get more box length? Running an aero sleepercab and a setback axle (Volvo 770) so I think I'm nose heavy...
