the muti carrier driver push

What I really don't get about these two companies no longer taking on multi-carrier drivers is that it seems as of they are the only companies that have been told that they can no longer work with drivers that contract with other companies. I don't see On-Dekk or any of the other multi-carrier companies out there requiring the same thing. Maybe the two companies mentioned on this thread did some shady dealings that caused them to be penalized by their insurance carriers. I know when I worked with a particular company legal documents and insurance forms were not properly inspected. I've been asking around and I've never heard of a driver having to sign a notarized document that they are responsible for their insurance policy. Sounds like someone is passing the due diligence buck onto the driver and thinking that a piece of paper is going to protect them from a massive lawsuit. Any how Dan, I hope it all works out for you wherever you go. You don't need companies that are trying to get you to drive 1200 miles loads without sleep. That's just pure greed on the companies part.

Thanks blizzard! Its been narrowed down now to either ceva or eds because load-1 isnt taking on vans yet.

lol. You've been around the block almost as much as I have. I'm afraid to apply to Bolt in March because my work record has been so choppy. I've been with six or seven companies since 2006. Some of that was as a fleet driver though. The next move I make will be an almost permanent move for me. I've tried it all and I'm ready for one stable carrier to partner up with. I won't miss carrier A being mad at me because carrier B found me a load before they did. All of the multi-carrier companies claim to be ok with you working for whoever you want, but they sure get bent out of shape when you are running a load for someone else. Why go through all of that stress? Working for one carrier that is large and can keep your wheels turning is peace of mind.

I'm leanning towards. Eds pr ceva because they are trucking companys first and expediting second. I think that one of them would have a bigger customer base than a simple expediter company. And yea after almost 8 years now i've ben around the block abit.

Someone is misinformed. Or they don't have carrier authority and want their trucks to carry their own.

Hey Murray, did you use to be the general manager at Rush Transportation? It just dawned on me that I think I remember you... I apologize in advance for going off topic.

[paullud;649451]I call it driver's memory because most of the time you can't even remember what state you are in.

And if a team your lucky to know what day it is!

Wow, I thought that was just me. I wake up wondering on occasion.
I have some very fond traveling memories from the past 19 months. Most of all going out west (by ground) for the first time in my life. NM, AZ, ELP, Las Cruces, Nogales, crossing through the Guadalupe Mountains National Park and climbing that freakin' mountain!!
But just don't ask me what cities I picked and dropped in the last week or two. LOL!!

What about the companies out there who make their straight truck drivers get their own authority so that when the trucks don't pass inspections at the weigh stations their carrier safety ratings are not affected by it. I know of companies who are running straight trucks, but when you look them up on safer web, there are no safety inspections reported and no carrier safety rating listed. Is this a legal way to get around running older straight trucks without it affecting your carrier safety rating? I know once a carrier gets below a certain safety rating brokers and other partner carriers will no longer work with them. There is a lot of shady stuff going on out there these days!
