January 20th, 2009. A day that will live in infamy. Our ship of state has made a sharp left turn. A rough 4 years lay ahead.

Total socialization of our country , the nationalization of healthcare and our industries and banks, the expansion of the welfare class, free government genicide of the unborn just to name a few isn't worse then what we have had!?!?

Yes, we've had some rough years with Bush. But it can and probably will get worse. Leftist policies don't work. There are no examples of such policies working anywhere. Bush followed by Obama is like a toothache followed by a train collision.
Bush failed because he had leftist tendencies of his own. Huge spending. Huge debt. Yet, Bush is a rank amateur compared to what the Democrats are about to implement.
Seriously, the U.S. is near economic collapse. Confidence in our basic institutions has been lost. Do you trust politicians? Me neither. We would be naive to think government is working for the good of the people. Their concern is power and incumbency. The era of good government may have ended with Eisenhower. So, we satirize our politicians in good fun with something akin to gallows humor. Our tiny pin pricks might have an accumulative effect but probably mean nothing.

Give the man a fare shake I say.

Dont matter weather I voted for him or not.

He is the commander and Chief and I see $$$$ Comming soon.
I would like to believe he will get this country on Track but he cant do it by himself.

If the support of the American people are behind him then the Congress and Senate Should react accordingly, as it would be to their benefit to be for the People as Obama States he is.
As he did state This Election was not about him but about the People and Real Change.
Well thats the Truth there no lies.

No, I can't agree. Obama has the support of the media and Democrats. Slightly more than 50%. It only goes down from there.
I don't subscribe to his agenda, so I can't hope he is successful in implementation of programs that are wrong or dangerous to the fabric of our society. I pray America succeeds. But not Obama. The two are mutually exclusive. Don't confuse Obama and America as being one entity.

He is the President. I would hope that all you God fearing, flag waving people would respect that and give the man a chance.

All this name calling is getting a little old.

This pos will never be my President. As far as giving him a chance, wait and judge him on what he does. Well let me tell you, i have no desire to give him a chance to impliment a socialist government, to add to the nationalization of or banks and industries that as already started, expand the welfare state, add to the free government paid for genocide of the unborn just to name a few, i can go on but the fact is I have no desire to "give him a chance.."

This pos has no regard for our Constitution and has made that clear in his own words and with the "changes" he plans.. He has said our constitution is outdated, it is bias against certain segments of our population... He feels the need to Take from those that have and share what he takes with those that don't have.... He sayes He is going to provide jobs.. Please tell me other then jobs within the government sector , just how does the government provide a single job?

Now I have not posted any Religous post here because it isn't the forum for it but, And since YOU brought GOD into this how about lets PRAY FOR HIM TO FAIL!?!? Totally based on the bible teachings!?!?

Many American Christians believe, as an article of faith, that we are to pray for the success of our leaders.

It has become a sort of conventional wisdom among soft-minded believers. The biblical proof-text for this misguided way of thinking is Romans 13:1-4:

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves ****ation.

"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

"For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."

What could be more clear-cut? At face value, it would seem the Bible is telling us government is a God-ordained good and that we are not to resist its terrors.

Many a coward has been bolstered in his conviction against challenging tyranny by not reading too deeply into the Scriptures. Yet, nowhere does the Bible ever suggest evil rulers are to be obeyed. When the rule of men conflicts with the commands of God, the Bible leaves no doubt about where we should stand.

That's why I do not hesitate today in calling on godly Americans to pray that Barack Hussein Obama fail in his efforts to change our country from one anchored on self-governance and constitutional republicanism to one based on the raw and unlimited power of the central state.

It would be folly to pray for his success in such an evil campaign.

I want Obama to fail because his agenda is 100 percent at odds with God's. Pretending it is not simply makes a mockery of God's straightforward Commandments.

So you will not see me joining in the ritual of affirming Obama and his mission in public or private prayer this week – or any other week.

Instead, I uphold the words of Jesus in Matthew 15:14: "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." And I take warning from Isaiah 9:16: "For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed."

And please don't tell me about "rendering unto Caesar."

It's important to consider the circumstances and the audience behind Jesus' instructions to "render unto Caesar." The Sadducees were attempting to trap Jesus into advocating open contempt for Caesar. He recognized their wicked and hypocritical little game and answered them with a totally truthful response that astonished everyone.

But think about it. There are two components to Jesus' words. We are to "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's," but we are also to "render unto God the things that are God's." Well, everything ultimately belongs to God. But, most of all, this injunction by Jesus instructs us that government laws cannot trump God's laws – ever.

If government commands you to do evil, as a Christian you must resist. There is no alternative. Citing the "render unto Caesar" line is an apologetic for accountability to God – nothing more, nothing less.

Furthermore, it needs to be pointed out that in America we don't have a Caesar. Never have, never will. You see, our system of government is called a free republic, and it is based on the concept of constitutional self-government. We have no "rulers" in America – except ourselves and our God. We believe in the rule of law, not the rule of men.

This is an important distinction, not a semantic one.

Nowhere in the Bible does it teach us to obey evil rulers. Nowhere.

This is a time for principled biblical resistance, not phony Christian appeasement.

Works For me, you see I can seperate this person from our country and our Constitution. I can support or Country and constitution without supporting the President ans wishing him success, because his success will be at a price too high to pay for our Country and Constitution.

As for the name calling, where were you when bush was taking all of the abuse and name calling!?!?

Give him a chance, no, I don't wish him any ill fate, but i certainly do not wish him any success either. As for respecting him simply because he is in the office of the president, why!? Please tell me, other then running a **** good campiagn and winning the office, just what has he done? Even as a congressmen, what has he done to warrant any respect???

You must be real popular at the Klan meetings.

Never been to one, you got an address of your next meeting??? I'll bring the best man from my last wedding, he is a big black guy, He'd enjoy himself..........:D

And by the way, npo where in any of my writings is there a reference to his race, other then in other post about him being a muslum, but there are white muslums also, so that doesn't work and nothing i said was based on osambas race, but its typical for a lib to play the race card when they have nothing worthwhile to add. Oh. I'd vote for condi rice if she ran and also alan keyes.. there both black you know!!

It NEVER ended with Bush... the blame or the spin or the name calling. Why should we give respect to those who didn't give us any for 8 yrs? Please answer me that.

While I totally agree with you, You might want to make sure that you make it clear you are asking that and asking for a reply as "just" another poster and not a "MOD"....

You never know when people will complain that a MOD is picking at them...

But I do agree with you 110%

Those who disliked Bush's decisions and policies pretty much confined their attacks to his decisions and policies. No one could have been more upset at what Bush 'accomplished' in 8 yrs than me, but I challenge you to point out any name calling on my part. What you call blame, I call being held responsible for one's actions - isn't that a tenet of the Republican Party and the conservatives?
Why should we give respect to those who didn't give us any for 8 yrs? Please answer me that.
I'd be glad to - but who, exactly, is "we"?
No matter - you can't accuse folks of being wrong, if you are just as wrong yourself, right?

I voted for Bush twice. I did not want Obama as president but the people have spoken and he is our president. Give the man a chance!

Well, I kept my word and boycotted the inauguration. Watched the Weather Channel mostly. Suffered through re-runs of Buckwheat and the Little Rascals on the Cartoon Channel as I was surfing. Or was...
