The Battle's Over

Yesterday I had another nice long run East over by Newark, NJ.  I had about 1000 lbs of castings, which again made for a good ride. Very uneventful ride.... slept over there over night, and decided to head for home since my brother has not been doing well.

Well, as I was fueling up this morning to head out, I got the call I new would be coming, but dreaded receiving.  The battle is over, Heaven won, and my brother is home.  He passed peacefully, and he was ready to go.  He had told me Tuesday night that he couldn't go on.  I knew he was tired, been fighting this cancer for almost 4 years, and it was enough. I told him I knew it, and that it was ok.  Even tho it hurts a lot, I'm glad we got to say our goodbyes properly. So many don't get that opportunity.

So, hug your loved ones a little closer tonight, and God Bless.  I won't be posting blogs for a few days, as we are dealing with this.
