Short run to Kokomo

Tonight I just got back from a short run over to Kokomo, IN.  Light box, easy run, but it really surprised me I got it. I was 3rd in line, but the others refused it. I found this out, because when I got the offer, of course I had ran in town, and was 15 minutes or so away from my van. I call dispatch, and told them I'd be willing to take it, but was away from the van.  They said I still was down the list, but if those in front of me refused it, they'd bump the time, and re-offer it to me. Well, of course, I got it re-offered with a later pick up time.  I don't get it sometimes. I mean, I'm sure we were all 'home bodies', because I'd been number 3 since Christmas. Maybe most people don't wanna leave home for less than 4 or 500 miles... me I figure a couple hundred bucks, and I run back home, is just as good as a bigger run where I have to spend money idling and eating on the road.  I dunno, maybe just wierd.  Anyway, back home, sleepin in my own bed, hoping to make some more cash before New Years.

Happy New Year everyone!
