Fun at the Border!

This morning I got to witness border agents in action! Man, I'm glad it wasn't me they were interested in! You see the stuff on TV, but it's nothing like when it's happening 20 feet from you!  I had another long overnight run (been nicely busy the last week!).. delivering in Windsor, Canada early this morning.  I delivered without incident, and headed back across the border.  As normal, I pulled up to the customs booth, handed the agent my ID, Passport, etc, and he started the routine questions. I don't know if an alarm went off, somebody radioed, or what, but suddenly  all heck broke loose, with agents swarming a truck in the lane beside me.  The agent looked up, said 'stand by a few minutes', and bolted from the booth. Within seconds the truck was surrounded, and the driver and two passengers were ordered out of the truck, and they 'assumed the position' with agents patting them down!

With agents standing back, weapons at the ready, an agent eased around the trailor edge shining a light into the truck.  I don't know what the deal was, but they had agents all over that truck, going inside and out, under the truck... while 2 more questioned the VERY nervous looking driver and passengers.

Finally one agent looked around and realized I was still sitting there staring in shock at what was going on LOL... he came over, checked my paperwork, and said "have a nice day"!   I didn't hang around to see the rest  LOL....

I will say this, I was very impressed with how quickly the agents swarmed the truck, and how efficiently they 'worked the truck'.... picture any movie you've every seen with SWAT storming a house, and you get the idea.  Very intense!
