Windows phone or Droid X? Verizon or T-mo?

This freakin' Blackberry is driving me crazy. Surfing on it is actual torture. I had a couple Treos, which I loved, and an iPhone, which I hated, and now this...

So I've been to Verizon and T-mo, scoping out their plans. Sure, Verizon has the best coverage, but they apparently think their minutes are gold-plated or something. T-mo has the largest 4G network and lower rates.

I had been leaning towards a Droid X; love the big screen. But a T-mo, I saw the Windows phone. Generally, I hate Windows and dumped it from my laptop. But the Windows phone and interface look pretty classy. I just wonder if it's as hostile to privacy as their computer OS.

Has anybody tried the Windows phone? Has anyone had both T-mo and Verizon and can comment intelligently? Has anyone had both the Droid X and a Windows phone? Looking for any comments. Don't know which to get. Want to get something to handle my routine websurfing and use that as a smartphone/PDA and then get the cheapest phone I can for a second line to use as a business phone. Anybody gone that route?

I have the Droid X and love it, however Verizon is just starting to roll out their 4G coverage and new phones so I would wait a few weeks and see what comes out. The first 4G phone was the HTC Thunderbolt and has got some pretty good reviews. The Droid X will very soon be replaced by the Bionic which will be top of the line.

I just got a HTC Droid and I love it. I had a Blackberry Storm before that. The droid is a much better phone. I'm with Verizon

Just so you know where my opinion is coming from I am a former truck driver and soon to be a former customer service rep handling calls for Verizon so I can get back into driving. I had AT&T for 7 years before changing to Verizon plus a couple of other companies before AT&T. From what I have seen I would stay away from Windows based and Blackerry phones. The Android OS is the way to go, as long as you get a more popular phone like the Incredible, Droid X, Thunderbolt, and the yet to be released Bionic you will continue to get the new OS updates as they come out which means that as new applications become available you will be able to get them. As far as pricing goes yes Verizon costs more but with good reason, just compare the coverage and figure in the fact that T-Mobile's claim of having the largest 4G network is a joke. If you take a 1989 Ford Escort and put a performance exhaust system on it you don't have a 2011 Ford Mustang you have a 1989 Ford Escort that might move a little faster. That is basically all T-Mobile did they are still using 3G technology and trying to make it as fast as they can in certain areas and just calling it 4G. Verizon will have 4G coverage everywhere they have 3G now by 2013 and it will be the fastest out of all 4 networks. When you compare the cost of unlimited minutes, text, and data for smartphones T-Mobile is $100 and Verizon is $120, the $20 is a great investment when you look at the coverage maps and amount of coverage issues and complaints T-Mobile has.
