What'd your start up look like?

I'm starting to get the idea I'm not having the typical experience after having to do:

30+ page application
3 interviews
2 background checks (local police and DHS)
drug screening (in a country where some drugs are legal federally)
an interview with DHS which is pending
full medical/blood test (apparently looking for diabetes)
all before signing anything.

So I'm kinda curious if this is normal, especially the "anyone with a pulse can do this job" response I was given elsewhere.

What'd your first contact to driving contract look like?

What you're going through is more or less normal for those who cross the border. I had 3 interviews for my FAST card.

As far as the drugs go, there are all kinds of drugs that are legal, but you still can't use them while you are operating in a safety position where the public is at risk.

Right of course and I get that. To my knowledge just stuff stays in your system for super long periods of time (I feel like someone told me a test can fail up to 4 weeks after you smoke). I've never done anything of the sort so I wasn't worried, it was just odd to me.

FAST interviews are going SUPER well right now too... /s. Ive been waiting for my second interview since may, and I know of people who've been waiting longer.
