Seasoned Expediter
What is it with people today. In the last few days I have seemed to run into people who hate trucker people. I was brought up being polite, I go out of my way to help women with children and old people,
When appropriate.
I spent the weekend in Frytown PA aside from the friendly drivers I felt like I had the plague. The Truck Stop right on right side when you get off 78 onto 501 has a guy at the fuel desk that either hates women that are working in a once predominately male field, or he forgot to take the corn cob from where the sun don’t shine, corn field right next door. I decided to do my reset with all the comforts of home and hooked into IA, nice. When I asked about a shower and how much fuel for a free one he made a comment to the affect I was going to use a receipt of another driver, WHAT THE HEY!! Then when I pulled in to a gravel road after delivery this IS, a crotchety old man blocks the exit and walks down the road a bit. I found him and asked if he could move his truck so I could leave, he said I should not have parked there to begin with it was private property. I said sorry, but there is no sign. Then he dove back into his crotchetiness and said how he should call the police and give me a ticket. Whatever I said, not what I was thinking though as my truck was much bigger than his, hee hee!!! Maybe that was the problem.
It’s hard to be nice when you keep getting meanies your way.
On the positive side, the truck stop is near farms with some dirt roads that made for a nice walk, a little babbling brook to boot. The ladies in the restaurant were nice and the morning fuel desk lady was cool. I just am not use to being on the road, I have been out for a couple years and some of the ugliness is still there. But as I will say to my daughter without the bad the good is not so good.}> }> }>
