What companies can I work for with an "aftermarket" ELD?

Hi you guys. Originally I was looking for an expiditor truck strictly for an rv conversion and animal transport (I'm a dog trainer), but after talking with the current owner and learning about the industry, I'm into it!

My question is about my eld device. The current owner of the 2007 hino can't drive it for the company he works for, as even with the aftermarket work around, that particular company won't let it skate.

My question is can anyone talk with specificity about what expiditing opportunities do exist using something like the Big Road module.

Thank you!

I don't know about the Big Road module itself, but as long as the ELD meets the company's requirement, you can provide your own ELD. In other words, you cannot be forced to purchase an ELD from the company. I'm not sure why a company wouldn't accept the BigRoad ELD, though, since it's on the FMCSA's approved list of ELDs.

They can’t force you to buy from them.
They may be able to force you to use one compatible to their system.

Does anyone know someone using other than Qualcomm at FedEx ?

A friend recently went through Landstar Orientation.
They suggested three options.
Qualcomm, KeepTruckin , Rand McNally.
Rand McNally is crap. Only about 10 left in the fleet, from what he was told.

C&M I think in Cleveland uses big roads. I use big roads with PTL, Premium Transportation & logistic out of Toledo.
