what can u do about deadbeats

i have an owner who is playing games with my money. in the contract i signed i had to give a 2 week notice i gave 3 weeks and stayed in the truck working for those 3 weeks he got the truck just the way i got it if not nicer i didn't owe him money for advance he had given me i was free and clear so other than small claims any other to collect

Not sure what state all this happened, but I know that if it's Michigan, go to the Mi. Dept of Labor - if you get to the correct extension, they'll do what needs to be done to get you your money for you.

As far as I know, throughout the USA, legally your employer must pay you for work that you performed for them.

If, for whatever reason, you owe money to your employer, he must either take it from your escrow or bill you - period.

I would suggest filing in small claims. Seen many people that "play" with others like this, BUT, when the legal stuff flies they soon give in.
