After posting a list of Trucker Slang, in the Newbies Forum, I was inspired to browse the net for more slang terms. I haven’t listed my sources because I didn’t keep track of the sites visited, and the terms are all in the public domain anyway, so much so that most of us have heard each of them at one time or another. Also contributing to the list were ‘Teamcaffee’, ‘Moot’, ‘GerryGA’, ‘Crazynuff’, ‘RobA’, ‘Cheri1122’, ‘arkjarhead’, ‘DoggieDaddy’, ‘Fr8Shaker’ ‘Bruno’, ‘silverdollar’, ‘mudflap’, ‘bryan’, ‘highway star’, ‘grog111’, and ‘Pappy’

RE: Trucker Slang (revised)

It's not trucking slang, it's trucker slang. :)

Most are slang used on the CB radio. Like, when a 4-wheeler cuts in front of you and then immediately dynamites their brakes.

"Gougin' on it!"
This is used to say you're going fast. Proper delivery of this term is very important. There should be a higher pitched, growly emphasis put on the word "gougin'". One would be opening themselves up to ridicule if they were to say, "I'm gouging on it" in an average, conversational tone.

Another term for going fast is, "traveling at a high rate of fuel consumption".

!!!DISCLAIMER!!!
Speeding is wrong. Always respect the posted speed limit and all rules of the road.
