Talking about Rates

I stopped in the service dept at Westfall GMC to have a friends Yukon serviced.

Light Duty $139 per hour
Med Duty. $150 per hour
Motor homes $179 per hour

Is this common ?
With all the proprietary stuff on a vehicle, I used OEM dealers a lot.

Glad I retired when I did.

Sadly it is common. The mandatory costs transferred down to a dealer from the OEM are unreal now. The costs to keep even a simple Tech II up to date from GM is north of 4k a year...and a LOT of tech training that costs big bux. I think it's one reason more and more small dealers are selling to the mega dealers...just too damn costly. Dealers are even expected to share warranty costs now on some things via reduced labor times paid. It's nuts.
