Stupid is as stupid does. A FINE example of a college degree NOT equaling intelligence.

That makes as much sense as a teacher swearing in class, and then suspending the students because they heard it.

The question is, did any of the administrators or other teachers in the school see that picture?

Uh, oh.

The teacher SHOULD have known better. She should be fired. I don't know about the kids. Did I miss something? Is there a rule about the use of cell phones etc?

Well well well ................. if teachers aren't doing their students, I guess they go topless. What a good witness for manners and morals these days. I guess this falls under freedom of speech. If adults are going to do this, then don't get your picture taken like Harry did, you know Harry, the Queen of Englands grandson.............................mercy.

Stupid on the teachers part yes should she be fired nope. If there was reason for suspending the kids they sure left it out of the article.

Agreed...technical wise, the article explained HOW the pic got on the I Pad....which was a bad oversight by the teacher....but the article definitely leaves out the reason for suspension of the kids.

It appears she wasn't actually topless and had a bra on. A police report was filed so more information is sure to come out but the story the students told about the picture just appearing is Bravo Sierra.

The students said the teacher must have pressed something in order to get her iPhone to sync up with the pads. That much is true. Her phone didn't spontaneously sync with a bunch of other devices all on its own. Either the teacher synced it, or left her phone unattended so that someone else could.

If the pic, bra or not, was not on the device to start with sync or not no one could have seen it. Terrible lack of judgement if the story is true. Along with a lack of standards and modesty. Assuming the story at face value she would not be a good example of how a teacher should present her, or his, self. When one accepts a position of authority over children one SHOULD behave in a manner that fits the position.

I would disagree she could have taken that pic to share with a husband or boyfriend and there is nothing wrong with that at all.

The stupid part was allowing it to sinc. Im guessing the kids went into the photo file or something and that's why they got in trouble.

When a person accepts a position of public trust they should act in such a way to be worthy of that trust.

To have a picture such as that, on a device that is connected to the internet and/or subject to sync up, is a best VERY poor judgement. Not that anyone seems to place any stock in good judgement these days.

Teachers, and many other people, are in publicly paid jobs, NOT private industry. It is a job that requires a LOT of trust. A RESPONSIBLE adult who accepts a job that will place them in a position of authority and example to children should be aware of how certain actions may be viewed, intentional or not. That is part and parcel of proper action when one accepts such a position. A RESPONSIBLE adult SHOULD act accordingly. Assuming the story on face value only, she was acting in a manner that places her in the category of a "Clinton Style Bimbo".

Had this happened, again only assuming the face value of the story, when MY kids were in school, I would have demanding that she be fired. I expect only the HIGHEST of standards for those that I employ.

If you're going to place her into the category of "Clinton Style Bimbo", then you have to assume a heckuvalot more than the face value of the story.

13 year old Josh Troutt says he and his friends were playing with a school-issued iPad in class on Monday.
“My friend let it go to sleep because we were talking,” said Josh Troutt, a seventh grader. “Then he went to unlock it again and the cover photo was a picture of the teacher topless.”
The iCloud can sync all of your content (movies, music and photos) across all of your devices. It would make sense if the teacher registered the class' iPads to her iCloud account so that she could push content from her iPhone to the iPads, and it may be that Apple’s convenient syncing feature majorly inconvenienced the teacher, resulting in nude photos from her personal device being transferred to the work device. A worse scenario would be that she may have used the iPad to take the photo and then forgot to delete it. But the photograph was from the neck to the waist, no face.

Police detective Joel Sandefur said the police have turned to matter over to the school.

“Since the material was not pornographic in nature and no criminal violation could be gleaned from the evidence as presented, the matter was turned over to the school and the police investigation was closed.”

The school refuses to talk to the media bout it, so all we're getting is the student's side of it.

Your right we need to keep teaching kids how shameful the human body is and that they should always make love with the lights off because heavens sake one of gods most amazing creations is nothing to be proud of.

There is a big difference between lewd and tasteful.

I did see somewhere that the picture was for her husband who travels for long periods of time. She probably used the same Apple ID which caused the 2 devices to sync unknowingly but the kids are lying about the picture just appearing out of nowhere.
