Sprinter teams/Van teams

I need input on how many loaded miles Sprinter teams and/or van teams are currently getting on a weekly basis. I am considering a move to teaming and have no real clue to their earning potential. After several years of solo operations in a van, the writing on the wall is becoming clear. I watch one van team after another get dispatched ahead of us solo artists. Ok, I can be part of this team action or get left behind in a sea of single-driver vans. Adapt or perish.
As an O/O, I used to get 1500-2000 miles a week. With van saturation in this industry, I now struggle to get 1000 per week. That is unacceptable to me. So, all you Sprinter/van teams chime in. OVM...my pugilistic pen-pal, give me the truth.

Truth be known you typed your own answer...

I am flying solo at the moment so numbers are N/A and when JuJu is with me, lets just say things are good to better...with the right carrier....numbers really confuse the issue, because they are so variable...Bottom line is you should do well...

BUT You will be splitting the income with a person not in the same household. Giant difference.

Thanks Jim...his original post doesn't state if he's putting his wife or teaming a 2nd person...
I think in another thread he mentioned his wife thats why I didn't mention it....

But yeah...if its going to be split might as well stay solo...

This is what I have come to realize as well, so my G/F who has been riding around with me for the last 2 months to get the feel of the road, is currently getting her license and we are gonna team up in my Sprinter and give it a go. I have talked to Sprinter/van teams when I can and they seem to be doing better than us "solo artists".

Because of some carriers ever changing, variable, when it's convenient for them safety break rule...you won't have to xdock or swap out long distance loads...
One good thing about P2's rule about non movement before a load offer...more are walking across the street to get to Taco Bell...more exercise...

OVM... it's been so slow for me lately, I think I could walk to the next town and back without fear of missing a load offer. I've been sitting in Lexington,ky area for five days at 1st out or 2nd out with no offers to speak of. I might park my van and join up in a straight team operation. I will entertain offers, preferrably someone needing a co-driver w/Panther, E-1, FedExCC, Tri-State, LEA, etc. Any fleet owner or O/O needing a straight truck co-driver may PM me.

While it's true on some weeks solos make more then teams from different households. Most of the time teams out earn solo drivers. Solo drivers spend more time in truck stops blowing money on expensive food and coffee. If you drive for a owner your job is more secure as a team because the owner makes enough money to put something away if a truck goes down. Running 1500 miles a week as a solo in a straight truck is not going to cut it for a fleet owner.

And running 3000 miles a week increases your pay by exactly 0
plus the food money ya didn't get to spend...

But the owners increases 100%...

I must have just missed you in Walton cause we pulled in around 11 am. I parked next to Stubby with the Fed Sprinter. Talked to him and a couple P2 drivers till tuesday when we got out. He had mentioned that a E1 guy with a SD plated sprinter got out that morning, and he didn't seem too enthused, lol.
