What are the most needed,or wanted creature comforts in everyone's sprinter set up? Vent fans,heat/cooling,lights.Brand names would be helpful and cost's.

Espar makes what's praised as an excellent heating unit. I'd personally put in a small Onan generator and Coleman rooftop a/c. A much less expensive option would be two Fantastic vents (or similar name). They are powered vents and I'd go with one near the front and one at the back. One would be set on intake and the other on exhaust. They'd pull a lot of air through but if it's July it isn't going to be the most comfortable air temperature. There are a number of good threads on van conversions and upgrades on here that will expand on this a lot. Those are just a couple things to get you started. Good luck.

Thanks LDB! There must be alot of sprinter driver/owners out there that have amenities on their van ,but maybe they have so much freight to haul they dont have time to respond. What kind of tv's,fridge's,mattresses, accent lights, fans,Again thank you LDB for your time! I have found a custom mattress company thats making me a great pillowtop 35x66 for about 240,they can make any size, its in texas.

I've got the two things Leo mentioned- an Espar Airtronic 2 heater installed by Espar of Michigan in Romulus, and a Fantastic vent installed by Camping World. Both are wonderful, the heater was $1500 and the vent $400. I also got a fridge with a thermostat for $400 at Camping World that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. The fridges sold at truckstops are about $100, but they don't have a thermostat so they run constantly and thus have a shorter life. At Radio Shack you can get a 15-amp power supply so you can plug the fridge into a wall socket when you're home or in a hotel. I have 2 yellow top Optima batteries for auxilliary power connected to the starting battery with an isolator separating them. Most people have normal things like a TV and microwave, but I don't. Of course you'll need a power inverter.

LDB Where did you mount the generator and what size did you get and how well is it working? Thanks

I don't have a Sprinter, I just keep up with them some. I've seen a photo showing the generator mounted behind the rear wheels on the passenger side. If I were to do a Sprinter I'd do a 3500 and have the generator and a Coleman rooftop a/c unit and a pair of Fantastic fans on the roof along with two or maybe three Optima yellow tops. I'd also have an Espar heater.
