Solo Straight Truck or Solo Tractor Trailer

I'm currently weighing my options on where to start as a company/fleet driver with the hopes of becoming a owner operator. I'm wondering what would be a better career choice for a solo driver, Straight truck or tractor trailer?

Tractor, if money is all you care about.

Honestly, I care about a career, something that I can do until retirement. I'm still young, I want to live comfortably, of course! I'm looking for a lot more than just money.

If you have a class A use it and drive tractor. If you drive a straight truck for a few years you won't have any recent tractor experience and will most likely have to start over again to get your experience back.
Starting out in a tractor also gives you some flexibility. If you don't like expedite you can always go back to truckload.
