Puzzling loss of miles per gallon in Sprinter

Hey Guys. I ride on a 2004 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 with 283,000 miles on it. A month or so ago I started using Howe's Meaner Cleaner per Turtle's advice and my increase in fuel efficiency was 2+ mpg. Recently I had to replace the Turbocharger and EGR valve. I also put a new fuel filter on it. Since the replacement parts, I have lost the mpg gains I had, plus I have lost another 1+ mpg. That's serious and already dipping into the pocketbook. It would seem that the new parts would have increased fuel efficiency instead of worsen it. Vehicle runs fine otherwise. Anybody got any thoughts or experience on this problem? Thanks.

There is also an 02 sensor a bad 02 sensor will not always trigger the light to go on...that can drop your MPG and there is a Mass air sensor as well....

Check for leaks in the turbo hoses, check the clamps and also maybe the Air Charge Cooler may have a leak.
