When I graduated high school, 30 years ago, my home county with a population of 80,000 listed 15 surnames in the local phonebook. Upon a recent visit, I was surprised to learn they now sport 25 surnames. What's that.... a 66% increase. Put that in your diversity pipe and smoke it!
