pay per mile

Hi Everyone
I was wondering if anyone knows how much fedEx CC is paying vans per mile?

$0.85/loaded mile plus Fuel Surcharge which right now is 9.7 cents/mile. Deadhead is 15 cents/mile after the first free 50 miles. Fuel surcharge is paid on all authorized miles, including deadhead.

Those numbers are okay to start with, but I would figure on the low end. Last week we were stuck near Kansas City and every load offer we received was less than $1/mile. We are a DR unit. We didn't take any of them, but had we found one headed in a "better place" we would have grabbed it because at least it would have paid something to get to a better place rather than just DHing or even worse being stuck sitting in Kansas City.

Figure low.

This is the flat rate we get paid, no more no less. However, nobody should make their decision on what carrier is best to go to based on rates alone. We get paid more per mile than other carriers, but we sit more, and in the end, we bring less money in.

That is a pretty sad rate to be sending a DR unit. A broker load would pay more than that.

Yeah, but it got them out of Kansas City, though. There's hardly anything coming out of Kansas City, and what there IS coming out doesn't pay much. If you can find a load running to another location, and said load pays for half of your fuel/gas, consider it a win.

Kansas City is the Salt Lake City of the Midwest.

Do you know why birds fly upside down over Kansas City? It's because there's nothing worth ****ting on. Seriously, stay away. Thanks in advance.

I've never had a problem getting loaded out of Kansas City. Clearly, that's my carrier's fault, as they always seem to find something coming out of there, and rarely at a reduced rate.

On the other hand, Houston is my load unicorn. Everybody on the planet seems to get loaded out of Houston just fine, except me.

We have never had a problem getting out of KC. May be a carrier issue? As for Houston, we get out of there fairly well, but to be fair, better than half of the outbound Houston loads are hazmat. N.O/Port Allen area is kinda of the same.

I would think so .
also , knowing how many other trucks , of a kind , are there .
also , luck .
it's look to me like , if there is an available truck in KC , there are a swarm of available trucks .
i once got a call from an Expediter . he told me that recently he got out of KC 5 times , no problem . and now he is sitting there for 7 days . do to his carrier record of getting him out , he hold his ground and got out the 8th day.
(problem was , that load took him 12 mil. from home , well ,do you go home ? not ? )
