Well, I got word yesterday from my ins company, and will get just enough to cover my losses plus a few extra. The two trucks i have, one a daycab, in chicago, my driver wants to buy it and keep the contract there so i'm gonna do that. My D unit keeps breaking down so i'm getting rid of that too. Now, i have to go back on the road and try and find an owner with a good truck to make some money. Oh well, that's life....

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, you sure seem to be taking it well.Can you tell us what area of Chicago your trucks were stolen from, this way we can all avoid that area.Good luck.

From previous posts I thought you were making a ton of money. Apparently not. Pays to save and have no truck payments. One thing is for sure, I don't think I would drive for whatever company you drive for.

i was making good money, but, the way i made it was by driving first and getting some start up cash, so that's what i'm gonna do again. i'm not broke, or hurting too bad for cash, but i kinda miss the road, so i'm gonna run till the end of the year and buy another truck in jan.

Well we know the feeling. We use to own 10 trucks now only half. Took the rest and invested in real estate down here in Flagler beach. Turned out to be a good move. Like I said earlier, can't do this business successfully with high costs, like a truck payment ect. Good experience for newcomers, that if if can't pay your truck off in a couple of years, stay out of expediting!!!!

Your correct on that. But I just bought 2 tractors, and i'll be driving one, and I decided not to sell my other tractor to my driver, why give up on a sure thing, the contract gives me a steady $4500 month income, so one of my cousins will drive in Chicago, and the other two will be out on the road.
