Now what?

It is bad enough that a large number of my posts get double posted. Now, when I delete them, they show back up again. Why? What is going on.

I have scanned my computer for "bad things, several times and come up with nothing ever time. I have NO idea what is going on, any ideas?

Ooop's sorry again, that wasn't nice of me.
Wished to heck I knew what was causing that cause it is real annoying.
Who is your wireless provider?
Sometimes in a real slow area for Sprint it tries to do the same to me.

We have Verizon. It does not happen on my wife's computer, only this one. We use the same device at the same time. It happens on one other site that I post on from time to time, but no others. It is just as annoying for me.

It only happens to me here not on the porn sites:p
Do you have a Mac?
Seriously the difference between you and I is that I get the error message of a double post before it hits the tablet here at EO..
I am really trying to figure this out as I thought it was my Gemini twin playing tricks and you showed up...

I don't visit "prawn sites" I prefer shrimp. :p

I get that same message from time to time. I have been paying attention when I remember too. I often have the "double tap" even when I don't "double tap".

What is weird is I deleted a few of them today and they later came back. One I believe is due to a answer to that post that took place as I was deleting it. The others? NO idea.

I have a PC, XP pro with SP3. My wife has Windows 7 home.

We use AVAST (paid version) for anti-virus and firewalls are in place.

:p

I was thinking more Twilight Zone ..... he said the other day he didn't think he would make the 16,000 post soon ....

I think his posts have taken on a life of their own to reach that goal FAST

Hahaha......

Didn't even think about that......

Your post count should be in the 8-9K range, not the 16K range.

Post Count aside, let me say this. Out of all the boards I'm on, trucking and custom automotive boards, you are the ONLY one I see with this problem. Nowhere on any other board have I seen a member that "double" posts like you do.

It's easy to see where you've been on this board too. Just go down the Forums thread list and every single thread that has the Trash Can emblem (deleted post) showing, I know LOS has said something in that thread. It's almost comical, especially in the Soapbox. Almost all the threads have the trash can on the link. (You're a busy guy down there):p

But why is it happening? Other than the "fun" answers, there has to be a real one. I have had this machine wiped clean and reloaded with a "fresh" version of XP PRO. It always has anti-virus running and no scan has every found one.

I don't claim to be a computer expert, but I am at a total loss. I was hoping someone in here could give me a clue as to why.

I'm not sure what you are using, but i have a mouse problem every now and then. It sticks and when i hit the back buttom, it goes back 2 pages. Could be the same?

Does it happen with both computers?

Do you have the same problem with any other website? Is your mouse or Enter key working properly? Sometimes it will give double click automatically.

Probably not.....

There are days when LOS is posting normal, no double posts. So I'm led to believe those are the days he's on his wifes computer. Right LOS??

Yes, it's happened on another website he might be on, or might not be on, and I fully understand why he's ticked off about it now. ;)

I don't think it's a "Mouse" double clicking problem. The board here has a safeguard in play that stops the same post being posted twice. Probably for spamming reasons. I've been stopped from posting the same post twice when my internet locked up before. A couple of times I've hit "Submit", sat there and waited, and waited, and when it wouldn't go on to the next page, I'd hit "Submit" again. Almost every time that message "post already submitted", or " double posting prohibited" pops up. (or SOMETHING like that - Can't Remember)

It's in your phone, or whatever it is you're surfing the web and posting here with LOS. Don't take my hassling/joking with you seriously, OK. I'm sure if anyone here knew exactly what it was, we'd already told you how to fix long ago. Me, I have no idea whatsoever. It's just one of those things, and someone has a solution somewhere. Know what I mean.:)

Use your wife's computer for a bit and see if it happens here, as well. If it doesn't, we can confine the problem to your computer, or the browser you are using, or some Internet setting (like a proxy setting).

Are you using IE 9?

No Chrome, sometimes firefox. It does it on both. She was on yesterday and today, posted a couple of PM's, did not happen.
