Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. Hah! I doubt students even hear about it. It doesn't fit with the leftist indoctrination camp program of current education.

That’s more like the right-wingers who want to hide so much of history such as slavery, the beginnings and reasons for forming unions etc.

It isn't those on the right who are throwing fits and tantrums and tearing down the statues and hiding history of slavery. And it was the right that put an end to it. It was the left who wanted to keep it.

If I remember my history, what were republicans back then changed to Democrats. Didn’t the Whigs become Republicans?
