First time on this forum, been on the other one. I have since changed my mind about getting into expedited freight. One of the reasons, and their are many, is what I see happening to rates. This reminds me of what happened to the big rigs after deregulation, when a glut of companies got into freight. They were offering the o/os like 64 cpm. Now it seems to be in the 80-88cpm range. How can anyone make a living at that? As far as expediting goes I predict that in the next 5 years, vans will run 72-79cpm, there will be no C-units, a D-unit will be paid 82-92cpm, and the E's will get probably $1-1.15 cpm. The deadhead, oh I'm sorry, bonus miles will probably go up a little bit. Just a prediction, or my opinion. But we all know that opinions are like....everbody has one. DooWop

Mr Dowopp,

You hit on the head. I think everyone in this line of work better get it together because we will see some of the biggest changes ever in the next few years. I agree 100% with you.
