Noise barrier wisdom

Alright I just compulsively ripped the sleeper out of my 08 sprinter I'm rebuilding of to my exact needs(609k) after the fact I removed the walls and sound insulation separating the sleeper to the cargo area and I now find the noise unbearable! What helps? Thick curtains ? Must be moveable as I want to increase my living space based on cargo

Build an insulated bulkhead with a walk through directly behind the seats. Add a curtain to the opening. Now you have a quiet, warm/cool cab with the rest of the van for cargo or a sleeper.

It sucks I took out my bulkhead...and I'm thinking the headphones would ruin the musical moments I have listening to the engine drone on LOL
