We now have a new Bookmark feature that lets you create you own set of Bookmarks for individual posts. Comes in handy for recalling important posts, and for storing posts for later reference. This should come in handy for doing research.

At the bottom of the posts you'll see a new Bookmark link. Once bookmarked, the text changes to "Unbookmark" so you can toggle the Bookmark, same as you can toggle the "Like" link. (clicking the images below will enlarge them to full size. Clicking again will reverse it)

When you click to Bookmark a post, you get an overlay where you can add a note indicating why you bookmarked the post. You can also use the Note to create categories or tags, like "APU" or "Batteries" or whatever.

To get to your Bookmarks easily, just hover over your settings...

Your list of book marks contains links to the post itself, the forum from which it came, who posted it, and an Edit link to edit the note (or delete the Bookmark - which can also be done by selecting Unbookmark on the post).

To go along with the Bookmark feature, there is also a new History link.

Clicking that will get you a listing of the last 50 threads you've viewed, and will have threads with new posts highlighted. It's a way to quickly find a post you've recently read but aren't quite sure where it is.

Thanks. I think this bookmarking method is the simpler, easier, more intuitive method than other options. This one has virtually no learning curve. It's no-frills, but practical. Certainly quicker and easier than trying to use the Search function or trying to remember where that one post was.

"New" and "important" changes should be posted at the top for a few days....not everyone scrolls down here unless they have a problem and need to post....

If by "at the top" you mean in an incorrect forum, like the General Expediter Forum, if I did that then someone, and I won't mention any names <cOVMgh, cOVMgh>, will report the post as being in the wrong forum and it should be moved to a more appropriate forum. :D

When people scroll quickly through the Forums List, the New.PNGindicator tag should help to let them know there are unread posts in a forum. When they click into a forum the New.PNGtag further tells them which threads they haven't read.

If it's a really big, major or important change or new feature, then yeah, I'd probably post it to General, but the Bookmarking feature is one that can be discovered easily, and is so easy to use it doesn't require much in the way of explanation. Same with the History link feature. Other recent new features like the Tab Alerts is passive and easy enough to figure out once you see it happening, and the Post Areas tab on the Profile pages is a no-brainer.

Once you're in a forum, you can also click on a thread prefix to get a listing of all of the threads with that prefix. So, in this forum, you can click on Tip.PNG to see all of the new tips and features. :)
