My 2 cents

Would have to agree with you about the low-ball on the truck trade in. I just can't understand these salesmen. At the Expo, I could have been very easily talked into purchasing a D-unit expedite truck. Seems they might not have been interested in selling it??????? Anyway someone said to me "Why should I help you ?" as I tried to get some information about how much they might come down on the asking price. He continued to munch away on his hot dog. End of conversation.

So how about telling us what salesman would be dumb enough to talk to a prospective buyer like that? I'm sure his boss would love to know!

If I where you I would stick with the few salesman that really know expediting, and forget the rest. You don't have the time to educate them about what a expeditor needs are. Talk to to the sleeper companys and they can point you in the right direction. Salesman like Jeff Jones, now with freightliner, or Mike Landwehr at Volvo, are just a few of the intelligent sales people that can help you with your choice. Hope this helps.

Gee, might the hot dog muncher be the same guy i ran into at the Expo? After giving a good and infomative seminar on spec'ing a truck and answering several questions from the group he asked us to stop by the booth with more questions. So I did only to find him much less informative. I did get 2 or 3 yes or no answers befor he turned his back to me to shoot the breeze with one of his buddies behind the counter. Maybe it was my fault, afterall I didn't have my check-book in plain view! If I wanted to be ignored I could have stayed home with my teen-agers. Needless to say this "salesman" and the company he represented have been crossed off the short list of potential recipiants of funds when I do make the purchase.
