Nope, just rational.

This isn't a conservitive v liberal debate. Michigan has the 6th highest gas tax and not one penny goes to roads. What is wrong with that picture?

Fuel tax does but not the sales tax. A lot of it goes to schools.

Minnesota had a budget surplus of $1.5 billion for 2018. One of the newly elected governor's campaign promises was a .10/gallon increase in the gasoline tax for road improvement. Hate to use a surplus for road improvement when a tax increase can accomplish the same results.
