Mercer Gets It

The buddy at Mercer that I talk to daily told me this.

If he upgrades to a 2007 or newer truck he will receive a $3000 bonus. Paid $300 extra on his first ten loads.

He gets 75% of 99% for his TT.
For the next two years loads originating out of California pay 89% of 99%.
That's a pretty healthy increase.

Anyone listening ??

Good idea. Will be interesting to see if it catches on. Then again, I have to reconcile that with just leaving California's freight at the border and tell them to "get it themselves". ;)

Mercer has been a company that seems to work with their O/O's almost as though they were business partners, imagine that. Nice to see that they are acknowledging the extra cost in upgrading a truck, hopefully more follow suit and start jacking the CA rates up.

The thing is they don't have to jack up the rates to the shipper out there struggling to stay in business putting up with Ca.

They realize the additional cost to the O/O and as a company are sacrificing
to help the O/O while trying to have available trucks to secure new business.

Maybe some smart dudes down there in Louisville.

My hat's off to them.

I want companies to start pushing the rates up for CA, let's see how interested they are in screwing over people when the jobs start moving to other states.

There are businesses that have to be in California.
There are businesses that want to be in California.
WE need shippers in California. The more we can help them, the better off we all are.
