Interesting new layover lodging option

Interesting new website that allows people with unused rooms, apts, houses etc. to market them on the web @ deep discount prices vs hotel rooms. This might be an excellent option for expediters who need a place to stay for a day or two. I saw a few places that will rent their couch for 20 bucks..(included use of shower and kitchen). Intriguing concept that appears to be successful.

Norman Bates may have an opening with them.
LOL, I know what your getting at here, but if you look at some of these places, people have left reviews..could be a way to save money on lodging, as always though..buyer beware.

I understand what your saying..its not just couches listed, there are lots of private rooms listed. Could be an affordable option to stay in city centers . Doubt you could find a 35 dollar room in nyc or Chicago.

I"ll stick to my bed-where I know the only legs crawling under the sheets belong to me and hubby.

I looked in Columbus and found a one bedroom apartment listed for $30 a night. I'd bet it is nicer than whichever discount motel one would choose. This could be an interesting option at times but it was way too good to pass up the Norman Bates comment.

Just paid 52$ a night for two nights at the Red Roof Inn. Included was the 16% Express1 discount. It would be nice if this would be feaseable in most southern cities. Was a scorcher yesterday at 95.

"Interesting option at times"..thats exactly what I thought when I investigated the site. I currently share a room occasionally with my co driver at a hotel for around 40 bucks, looks like I could get a bedroom for that by myself at times.

95? That would be a cool breeze. I'm in Texas and it's 104 at almost 8 pm. Van ac is laughing at me.

As Cheri pointed out, parking a ST or TT in front of the house, in the driveway or the apt building parking lot, will certainly create an interesting challenge...forgetaboutit....

Just like any other lodging..you would have to inquire about truck parking. Or use google maps satellite view, I use the satellite view to find loading docks and good parking spaces all the time. The web site seems like it may be of use occasionally to save some coin on lodging for the adventuresome expediter.

You're absolutely correct, and I was just trying to use a bit of humor to remind "you van guys" that we're not all as 'mobile' as you are.
Then again, we carry everything including the kitchen sink along with us, so everything is a tradeoff, lol. :)
