First let me say that this is a great site and has helped me a lot. Thanks to all of you.
I have spent about 2 weeks reading the forums, I would read till I had headaches, but the info here is priceless.
I'm going to run for an O/O who has two D units. He has a team in one and willing to let me solo the other. The guy seems to be a real good guy and willing to wet nurse me along some. 60/40 split and com checks to help me with the first 3 weeks (a big deal for me). Another key thing is he don't mind me taking my K9, she is my family and darn good personal protection(Husky/Wolf Mix). Hope Angel and I get to eyeball you guys soon on the road.
I'm surprised at all the offers I got from Van owners. One was wanting to do a 65/35 deal. Are there that many vans out there? After thinking about it, I really didn't like the idea of camping out in a van if I had to set and wait for a load. A 72" sleeper with frig, micro, and color tv sure would make waiting a lot better. Thanks guys and I'll let you know how it goes.

Yes this is a great web site and it really does help those that are open to the help.

I think you made a wise choice going with the D unit. A solo driver does have less offers than a team, but once you get the hang of things I don’t think you should have any problems. You can always team with someone if things don’t work out.

As for the vans…yes there are lots of them and most companies will give a run to a D unit over a van if it comes to that choice. Vans run good when the loads are there but D units run a lot more. The reason most of the van owners are so willing is exactly why you didn’t go with a van over a D unit, along with many others. Don’t you think if the vans were great the offers would be so plentiful?
