Canada Getting a CDL

Hi,
I'm just beginning to do some research and am interested in becoming an expediter. My question is how do I get a CDL in Canada? I asked a person at the MTO and she didn't know, she thought that I would need a CVOR. Is this true for Canada? Also, how can I get the needed HazMat training?

Thank you in advance.

There is not a CDL per-se in Canada. The United States recognises the Canadian licenses. Again, in Canada, there is no such thing as HAZ-MAT. Those regulations are covered under the TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS regulations.
Yes, I believe you will need a CVOR.
I don't know where in Ontario you are located but Humber College has a good training school. Also, I have read many good things about Kim Richardson training company. They are, I believe, in Caledonia Ont.

Hope this helps.
