Monday August 7 is a Public Holiday in (most of) Canada.
Most places of business will be closed that day. Major Ports of Entry such as Windsor, Sarnia and Fort Erie will find weekend staff coverage at the Customs Brokers.

Thanks for the info. Does this mean we might have to wait in line if we cross the border?

Though, in fairness to our Canadian friends, we find it far easier to cross from the U.S. to Canada than to cross back into our own country.

If you can avoid Toronto this weekend as Carabana is happening. The roads are plugged with visitors who know not where their going. Note also the OPP and the DOT are conducting lots of roadside checks and this includes vans!!
