From OTR-team to expediter

Anybody got any insight into how we might find expediting? We're company drivers, been driving a tractor with 53' trailer for the last 5 years as a team, 4500-5000 miles a week and home on the weekends (usually more like sunday and monday). We live in central Virginia and been talking to a recruiter from Fed Ex custom critical after talking to one of their B unit O/O's. Don't really like the idea of driving anything smaller than C class. Will probably only drive team for another 5 months before I stay on the farm full-time, and then probably drive team for a couple of months in the winter.

In regards to buying used, if a company wants a truck to be 5yrs. old or newer is there much advantage to buying used? Not to mention more unexpected breakdowns with a used truck?
