When under your Freightliner FL's hood, spray some WD40 on the windshield wiper linkages now and then. If they get too dirty the system will become intermittent, making you think the motor is on the blink. By the way, the motor and gearbox is in the cab, under the passenger side "glovebox" cover, if you ever have to find it. You'll laugh at how small it is.
